FAQ's

General

How do I get to the Condor-VA?   To be allowed to fly for the Condor-VA it doesn't take much.
You should be at least 13 years of age,
own a flight simulator,
have some time and an online connection.
But the most important thing should be that you deal with the VA and have fun flying and are a decent contemporary.
What happens with and after my registration?   After you have familiarized yourself with our homepage, it should be no problem at all to fill out our application form cleanly and conscientiously.
The test is not graded, but should only show the staff how great the interest of the respective newcomer is. Because without a careful search of the homepage it is difficult to fill out the registration form cleanly.
After the registration has arrived at our webmaster, it is usually immediately forwarded to our personnel manager and he will process your registration.
You will receive a welcome mail with your pilot number. After that your registration goes back to the webmaster who will activate you in the database and assign you to your mandatory flights.
You can see that people are busy with your registration and therefore your registration can take a little longer. If you haven't heard from us after four days, do not hesitate to send a mail to the "Personal Chief".
What do I get out of flying in a VA?   NOTHING!!!
You will not earn any money (except our virtual salary) nor do you have any other benefits, e.g. with our great role model the airline Condor.
What it will bring to the individual, everyone has to find out for himself.
But we, who fly here in the Condor-VA, already have something of it. We are not flying alone but in a big community. There are our online evenings and events, where there is always a bigger group of pilots flying together.
This and much more should make you want to register in one of the many VA's in Germany and around the world.
The Condor-VA is not the only one in the world, but we think it is "unique"
and you should consider this before you register, because as you can see in our pilot list, a lot of pilots register and then before they ever make a flight, they are already deactivated again. SORRY, but this is not the way to fly for Condor-VA.
My flying behaviour?   We're not asking you to take many flights! We have "flight of the months" and at least one of the four flights should be made there every month. This will allow you to remain on our active pilot list. If you have not flown for a month, a note will be added to your pilot number and you will know your status. The same applies to an absence of two or three months. But at the latest after the three months, at the beginning of the fourth month of absence, your pilot number will be deleted and you will be deactivated.
A reactivation is only possible after consultation with the staff of the Condor-VA, a simple new registration (as it is usually handled) is unfortunately not possible and is noticed in 99% of the cases.
If you are planning a longer absence from the VA or if you are not able to fly for a longer period of time, there is still the possibility to apply for HOLIDAY. This function should not be applied for a period of less than 2 months.

FAQ's

Fleet Management

Where can I find a detailed checklist for "my" aircraft? This question is difficult to answer, because of the amount of add-on software on the market.
With pay ware software however, a checklist is usually included or can be found on the manufacturer's website in the download area.
Here is a small link selection of the most common add-on fliers:
Aerosoft
Wilco Publishing
PMDG
Flight 1
The SID/STAR database for the FMC is very incomplete. Where can I get the complete data from? • SID/STAR are not published for every airport, because ATC assigns approach and departure vectors here.
• Navigraph always provides the most current navigation data (but for a fee).
Navigraph
Where is your download page or where can I find Condor liveries? Of course in our download area !
You can find Condor and/or TC-Repaints of all common airplanes at www.flightsim.com and www.avsim.com
Our fleet manager may have possibly some liveries in hands.
May I also use Add-on aircrafts? Of course, add-on aircraft may be used as long as the aircraft type can be flown according to the rules of the VA and you have the appropriate type rating.

FAQ's

Flight Managment

Can I use any machine on my hard drive to make our flights? NO! In our type rating, the aircraft that may be flown are clearly defined. All other planes you have on your hard disk, you use for the special flights and otherwise just for fun!
How do I determine the exact flight time of a flight for the PIREP? The flight time starts from gate (departure) to gate (arrival).
The flight times are always given in UTC time!
Can I fly to Gran Canaria as FO? Yes and No Some flights are allowed, more choice is only available when you are a captain.
What exactly does the Africa region include? The Africa region may be flown from the rank of Captain.
It includes the destinations:
Canary Islands
African continent
Arabian Peninsula
Mauritius and Madagascar
How do I have to register my flights so that they can be credited to my account ? Compulsory flights and all other flights can simply be carried out normally online or offline and then send us a completed PIREP (see pilot roster). Please fill in the PIREP carefully and also indicate whether the flight was carried out online or offline.
Where can I indicate the distance in the PIREP ? Distances are not indicated in the PIREP, but only the times (block-to-block in UTC), i.e. the time when the gate is left and the time when it is docked again.
Will my PIREP be lost if I give wrong SID's/STAR's or flight routes ? Generally -No. Only if key information such as pilot number, flight number, date and time are missing, incorrect or implausible, the PIREP will disappear.
However, you must be prepared for critical questions from the Flytime Manager if you specify a route via Ibiza for a flight from Hamburg to Munich :-) .
Where do I find the Pirep? With the introduction of the new homepage, we have no longer provided our own PIREP. You can only hand in your PIREP by clicking on the corresponding flight number from the corresponding flight schedule.
Only your own data: Do not forget the type of aircraft, day and time of flight, as well as all the remaining data.
Are the times indicated in the flight schedules binding? For online flights this possibility exists, which is also used for random sampling. However, everyone should be aware of the fact that they are first and foremost deceiving themselves if they give incorrect information about their flights!
Is there an automated flight management system that logs my flights ? No. Handicraft is our top priority and therefore every one of your flights is still being checked. We examine and consider such possibilities for the future (possibly due to lack of time)
Is it possible, similar to IVAO, to display which PIREPs or legs have already been delivered or flown? IN PRINCIPLE YES! In our new database system a LOGBOOK for every pilot is integrated which you can call up. There you can have a look at the PIREPs you have handed in.

FAQ's

Events

As a pilot, do I have to submit a PIREP for the VA's events and online evenings? No!!! Our event coordinator send the list with all participants to the flight time manager and each pilot receives his account for the hours.
Why do the other pilots not see my glider as Condor when I am online at IVAO ? With the introduction of the IVAP system at IVAO, MTL fliers were integrated into the system, all our Condor fliers should be integrated into the system. But only those which correspond to reality.
If you have your system running properly, these fliers will be displayed on the net.
